Rep. Steve Stockmans contempt for President Barack Obama knows no bounds. But House leaders have boundaries, and they say Stockman has crossed them.
House leaders today vetoed the Texas Republicans attempt to visually display his displeasure with President Obamas job creation efforts.
Stockman was ordered to take down his Obama Failometer, a 10-foot-long scoreboard, from its temporary home in a Cannon House Office Building hallway this afternoon.
The House Office Building Commission has a policy that prohibits and displays or items in the hallways, according to a spokesman for the Sergeant At Arms. The House Superintendent is in charge of making sure this policy is enforced.

(1,918 posts)Certain Texans seem to be under the misguided notion that most of the Hispanics in Texas are illegal immigrants. Pissing them off will only make them that much more active in government. As my legal Mexican American husband says, "Bring It."

(18,219 posts)I also had many Hispanic friends, some illegal and some born and bred in the good ole' USA. I even knew several US citizens, whose families were probably in Texas before it was a state, whose first language was Spanish. They were Texans and US citizens, but they were looked down on because they had an accent. Must be illegal, right?
It seems that the right has bought into the "illegal" meme to the fullest extent....and they will pay in the end. Good.

(297,574 posts)that keeps on giving. He and nugent can whine about that tonight too. While Stockman's ilk in the House are the ones who Obstruct the President's JOB's Act in America.
This one looks like he's building his own petard at an accelerated speed.

(10,893 posts)Obama won re-election...yeah, so much for him being such a failure.
Frankly, there should be a failometer for this GOP-led congress. Remind everyone how much their policies and obstruction of the president are slowing job growth and the recovery.

(2,702 posts)I'm at Cannon fairly regularly, and I know I've seen signs outside at least one member's office talking about the national debt figure and how much that comes down to per household. I haven't seen it recently, though the members play "musical offices" before the new terms start, and I just might not be walking down the right hallways anymore.

. Republican propaganda points?
Is it just a box with what he thinks is a big number: 1000?
I'm sure the written portion is just rehashed talking points. But, is there anything new?
Is this just a big number and putting words like fail and Obama next to each other because he knows how to use a space bar?
