This is really a measure of partisanship. Protest votes from the left count as conservative.`

(46,416 posts)1. There are two Udalls in the Senate--one in CO, one in NM.

(16,201 posts)3. Blumenthal was an awesome attorney general!
That man did more for consumer protections than Congress has in the last 50 years! He's relatively unknown, especially compared to Warren, but he has a long history of bringing terror to those businesses that screw over people.

(63,912 posts)4. spot on, nutmet! He is also hugely pro-choice.
Anti-choicers would never even THINK about pulling a fast one while he was A.G.
Did you know that his father in law owns, or at least once owned, the Empire State Building?

(56,829 posts)5. I never thought of him as all that liberal, though
and I'm a CT native. Good for him! Let's hope he keeps it up.

That's interesting...

(13,992 posts)7. Warren hadn't voted yet when they did the rankings
Probably hadn't even been sworn in.
But Bernie not making the Top 15? That's a head-scratcher for sure.

(20,450 posts)8. Thanks. It is an odd list for sure.
ETA: I see Cardin made the Top 10 and he's tied with Harry Reid at #7? WOW!

And vice versa.
Keep in mind that no single measure of voting behavior is likely to be perfect. For instance, some House Republicans occasionally voted against budget-cutting measures last year because they didnt think the bills reduced spending enough. In so doing, they voted against the overwhelming majority of House conservatives and with the overwhelming majority of House liberals (who opposed the measures because they thought the bills cut spending too much). In such cases, their votes were counted as liberal because they voted with liberals.
