Cruz Dismisses 2016 Talk As ‘Wild Speculation’

Responding to a report suggesting that he is considering a presidential run in 2016, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday emphasized that his chief focus is on "fighting for conservative principles" and doing his part to help Republicans re-take the Senate next year.

"I was elected because thousands of grassroots conservatives came together to protect the Constitution, shrink the federal government, and promote growth and opportunity," Cruz wrote on his Facebook page. "It is a continued source of amazement that the simple fact that I am working hard with like-minded Senators to keep my promise is seen as newsworthy and cause for wild speculation."

The report, published Wednesday in the National Review's Robert Costa, cited "friends and confidants" who said that the junior Texas senator is weighing a White House bid. Cruz took office in January. Costa later said on Twitter that a source close to Cruz emailed him to say the senator is "unhappy" with the buzz generated by his article.

Then my brother's pet Carolina Dingo is also "considering a run" for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.

The dog does not have a degree from Harvard, but she WAS born in the United States, only barks when there's a reason to bark, and is much cuter.

I guess, all in all, I'd have to give them even chances at this point.
