State Senator Chap Petersen appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show last night (http://bluevirginia.us/diary/9638/virginia-news-headlines-wednesday-morning) to explain his demand that Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) either "come clean" on his scandal(s) or step down as governor. Sen. Petersen's official letter is here (http://www.bluevirginia.us/diary/9634/sen-chap-petersen-calls-on-bob-mcdonnell-come-clean-return-giftsor-resign-as-governor). Also, it turns out that 2013 GOP gubernatorial nominee Ken Cuccinelli may have violated a judge's gag order re: talking about the Governor's Mansion scandal and ongoing lawsuit ("http://www.bluevirginia.us/diary/9635/so-much-for-the-gag-order-cuccinelli-analyzes-governors-mansion-scandal-on-radio-show). What a mess...for Gov. McDonnell and Attorney General/gubernatorial nominee Cuccinelli, that is!

(6,407 posts)Then Cuchinelli gets to be governor for a while before the election and it strengthens him. People get used to him as governor and he gets the benefit of incumbency. This is a stupid move for a Democrat.

(22,057 posts)He's far too sane for the Republican "activists" in Virginia. I know he hasn't endorsed Cuccinelli and read somewhere that McAuliff had offered him a job if he's elected.
