The populace of Texas is bipartisan. Texas is bluing.
A tactical retreat. Given what his party has done he feels the need to put some distance from them for next election. Can you blame him?

He will vacation on Texas taxpayer money for the next 14 months while campaigning for president and continue to double dip a governor's salary and retirement benefits due to the GOP TEA extremist Texas Legislative majority.
Texans are tired of this sorry asshole and his cronies. Texas is bluing.

(15,222 posts)Anti-Perry sentiment (even from Republicans) is at an all time high. Perry doesn't have the guts to go up against someone (i.e., Julian Castro, Wendy Davis) that has a REAL possibility of beating him.
Too bad, too. I would have loved to have seen the look on ole Ricky's face when his ass got handed to him. And while he may try to run for President again, I don't think he's going to be able to get past his last disastrous try.
