A tactical retreat. Given what his party has done he feels the need to put some distance from them for next election. Can you blame him?

Anti-Perry sentiment (even from Republicans) is at an all time high. Perry doesn't have the guts to go up against someone (i.e., Julian Castro, Wendy Davis) that has a REAL possibility of beating him.

Too bad, too. I would have loved to have seen the look on ole Ricky's face when his ass got handed to him. And while he may try to run for President again, I don't think he's going to be able to get past his last disastrous try.
