Between gun laws, abortion and voter suppression, several GOP state legislatures are in a race to the bottom! My state of Ohio included.

•Making it easier for voter suppression groups like True The Vote to challenge any voter who they think may be ineligible by requiring that challengers simply be registered in the same county, rather than precinct, of those they challenge.

•Vastly increasing the number of “poll observers” and increasing what they’re permitted to do. In 2012, ThinkProgress caught the Romney campaign training such poll observers using highly misleading information.

More of that there 'Citizen Police-ry' shenanigans.

to keep themselves safe. A majority of voters wanting Dem representation won't matter. Dems would have to win over 60% of the vote just to break even with GOP in Raleigh and in DC.

in North Carolina. I think North Carolina is a losing proposition for Republicans in the long run. This state is really getting more and more diverse in population. I see it everyday. It is even spreading into rural reas of the state. The Hispanic population is growing and the Asian population. The muslim community is also becoming more visible. It wasn't that evident years ago. North Carolina politicians are going to have to adjust to the changing face of North Carolina. Voter IDs and immigration laws are not going to reverse that trend. Pretty soon, North Carolina is going to be no different than any Northern State with how fast the population is growing. I've lived in this state all my life, when it was predominately Jessie Helms country.

With all the craziness that the Republicans are causing, the state may actually be moving faster to the left than it has been.

I'll be glad to help get folks the ID's they need, help them with documents they need to do so, knock on doors, phone bank, etc. I live about 10 minutes from extreme western NC, but have van, will travel. PM me if you are looking for volunteers.

Make sure you know what you are doing. You don't want hillbillies pulling guns out on you.

These Republicans are locked in by redistricting and don't have to worry about public opinion. They can still control both chambers of the general assembly even if they only get 40% of the vote.

They are pushing the state as far right as possible.

The worst part is that the governor has no veto power over redistricting.
