Republicans vs the general population...nothing we didn't already know but fascinating just the same
Todays entry is a Quinnipiac poll that asked voters to rank politicians based on how they felt about them, from a cold zero to a hot 100. The gap between the general population and self-identified G.O.P. voters was vast.
The winners, overall, were Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey and Hillary Clinton, who were in a statistical dead heat in their mean scores, with Mr. Christie ahead by 1 warmth point, 53.1 to 52.1.
Senator Elizabeth Warren took the #3 spot.
But .... looking just at how Republicans viewed their own people
Among Republicans, the winners were, in order: Paul Ryan, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Rand Paul and Jeb Bush. All are good prospects for winning Republican primaries, but until you get down maybe to Marco Rubio, pretty bad prospects for national electability. Mr. Christie trailed along in seventh place, behind, of all people, Rick Santorum, a spectacular flame out in 2012.
