Scott Brown tests the waters in Iowa

Former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts is traveling to Iowa on Sunday to check out the big boar and the super bull at the Iowa State Fair – and to size up whether Iowans might take a liking to him.

“I’m going to be coming out more often to try to determine whether there’s an interest in my brand of leadership and Republicanism,” Brown told The Des Moines Register in a telephone interview this afternoon. . . .

. . . . Brown said he just wants to see where Iowa might take him. He noted he’s been spending time all summer at his home in New Hampshire, which hosts the first primary in the presidential vote.

“I’m under no pressure,” he said. “I’m very happy. My daughter just got engaged! Life is good. I also think there’s a real vacuum of people in the middle like me – the real problem-solvers who will put our country’s interests first are few and far between.”. . .

1. He's been trying to marry his daughters off for years, so it's no wonder that makes him very happy.

(to quote the late, great Madeleine Kahn)....

What brand of leadership would that be, I wonder?

The loser-racist-condescending brand, perhaps?

That's just hilarious! Does he want to be the Dan Quayle of the 21st Century?

and were personally consulted by the President, Vice President and the Secretary of State? How many other people thought a two week trip to Afghanistan - while in Congress - made one a combat veteran?

Maybe he'll try to run on being the last vote on Dodd/Frank - not realizing that the Republicans hate that -- and the Democrats know that his price was preventing the banks from a tax that would have insured it was THEIR money that paid for the next bailout if needed. Saving the big banks billions - costing the tax payers the same. Is there an anti-progressive platform available for him? Is he even competent in his Fox News job?

Most politicians have very healthy egos, but his is humongous!

Dan Quayle might be insulted by the comparison.

I forgot about that--wasn't that a hoot!

Being cynical, I'm wondering if he has a few bucks left in his war chest, and he's taking any old excuse to get out of town on the suckers'...errrr...donors' dime!

he will have to go full loon to play in the primaries, and then you can't run from this alleged middle, which middle is already occupied by the center- right Democratic Party anyway.

Including some real bonehead campaign moves. Then he floated a trial baloon in NH about running for Sen. Shaheen's seat - poll #'s were in worm castings range.
So now he's off to Iowa, looking for somebody(?) who can recognize his "genius". They've seen that end of a horse in Iowa, too.

because his opponent ran the most brutally incompetent race it is possible to run. He has no idea how to compete on a national stage. He's a moron and an embarrassment and if he has any sense he'll quit now.
