Gee, and you think that attending one year of school (the word "madrassa" means "school", doesn't it?) in a "furren" country makes someone a "manchurian candidate", then what does that make the Cubanadian candidate?

Just because the Republican Party and Tea Party gave President Obama a hard time (I know "a hard time is a major understatement) about his citizenship does not mean those on the left have to do the same. Lets take the high ground on this issue. Whether we like it, or not Ted Cruz is an American citizen and is eligible to run for President. I understand looking better than the other side does not always win you elections, but not claiming Ted Cruz is not American, or not truly American makes those on the Left look better than the those on the Right.

As far as I'm concerned, Cruz should take heat for his citizenship status, every day he remains a public official. Cruz is much too dangerous a man to be cut any sort of slack---he is in the process of mobilizing the ugliest, most violent parts of U.S. society, and we are fools if we don't use every means at our disposal to stop him. Join the fight or get the hell out of the way.

Wish they could take away his citizenship tomorrow. Why wait 8 months? The guy is a jerk and he knows he would have never
got anywhere here in politics, thinking and especially talking the way he does.

Sorry you all get him. Can't see why he thinks he would have a chance at being the President though. Who would vote for him? Sounds pretty whacko to me??

Besides, it's better than using "asshole" or "fuckwad" or "schmuck" or adding the modifier "fucking" in front of those. Easier in polite company dontchaknow?

Yeah, I know about taking the high road. But sometimes I also like the idea of "taste of their own medicine. See how they like it."

And being actually born in the other country, with a father born in another country, is something the right wingers should question by their own standards. There's nothing wrong with asking right wingers why they had a problem in one case and none in the other.

Fact: Obama was born in Hawaii an American state. He can and did run for President. He was not born in Kenya, a country that didn't exist when he was born.

Fact: Ted Cruz was born in Canada a member of the British Commonwealth. As an American born in a foreign country, he cannot run for President.

He is a natural born citizen but not eligible to run for President because he was born in a foreign country of one American parent. I went through the same process for the same reason and I cannot run for President even though I have papers that say I'm a citizen from birth. The judge who swore me in and a courtroom full of other American born children, who were born in foreign countries, not on what is considered American soil, like an embassy or military base, were told by the same judge that we have all the privileges of being American, voting and running for office with the exception of the office of the Presidency. I'm sick of people making up their own rules to suit themselves.

One of the children at that swearing in ceremony asked why it was so and the judge explained it was to insure that the Presidency was only for natural born Americans. Americans born overseas to let's say American soldiers during war or other such type incidents could be loyal to the country of their birth and not the USA. That's why. Agree or disagree with the reasoning if you like but that's how it was explained to me.
