a "none of the above" stipulation to our electoral system would go a long way towards fixing a lot of our problems with finding honest and qualified individuals to serve in elected office. Since it would be helpful and pragmatic, we will never see it happen.

If for no other reason than the ball numbing fear of Super Pacs wasting 2 total campaigns worth of money trying to your corporate droog elected.

And, depending on the election, we do -- every two or four years.

Edit: or six years in the case of the US Senate.

Considered the incumbent remain until a special election could be convened. Several problems with that, ie the bad stays, etc. Considered temporarily moving junior personal up the chain. Considered temporary appointees by governors, state assemblies, or predetermined special conferences.

any thoughts?

but would be a means of registering dissatisfaction as opposed to apathy on the part of those who stay home.

One of the more... basic sort of people, suggested I trade "none of the above" with "kick all of them in the balls", I thought that was well intended but sexist.

And I don't think we will ever get either put on an actual ballot.
