Gov. Bobby Jindal rejects Obama impeachment talk
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal went on the record over the weekend to reject GOP chatter about impeaching President Obama.
Jindal, the chairman of the Republican Governors Association and a potential candidate for the White House in 2016, spoke out after at least three congressional Republicans have spoken to constituents at town halls during their August recess about the possibility of impeachment
"Look, I reject that kind of talk," Jindal said Sunday of impeachment chatter, speaking on NBC's Meet the Press. "The reality is I didn't like it when the left spent eight years trying to delegitimize President Bush, calling to question his election. I don't think we should be doing that to President Obama."
Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., responded to a question earlier this month by saying, "I don't have the legal background to know if that rises to high crimes and misdemeanors -- but I think they're getting perilously close," Coburn said, adding Obama was a "personal friend."
