Look at the comments on a joint US Navy-PLAN exercise. Almost all spewing hate against China. Every one thinking China is America's enemy and the Navy shouldnt have joint exercises with them. Not one of them understanding this is a means to improve military-military connections

Selling of Apache Helicopters to Indonesia. Soo many "Oh It's Obama Home country (which it is not dummies), therefore he's selling arms to a a dictatorship (Indonesia is the largest Muslim Democracy)". Not one of them understanding its part of the Asian pivot.

I don't trust China either, they crush people w/ tanks and take over their societies. I won't forget FORMOSA. But they're huge customers and turning into meat eaters. Not able to steal every movie, song, technology and game anymore.

I would say that most of facebook users are dumb would be normally made up of Americans who are being ignorant of what is going on outside of this country. I once read about a woman (wore "Don't Tread On Me" t-shirt) who met Australian at restaurant after Tea Party rally in Nevada, she asked him how long would it take to drive to there?

Nearly 60% of Tea Party members doesn't have any idea where Iraq, Benghazi, Libya, Egypt, and even doesn't know where Afghanistan would be.

10. The Devolution of America!

I spent 2 weeks in China this summer and was mightily impressed. My view of China is FOREVER changed, and changed favorably.

At the hotel in Beijing, the people were welcoming, gracious and bi- or tri-lingual! Visited a grade school where the children were learning Mandarin and English. They are organized and smart; and instead of maligning them and thinking the US is better because of its big guns... lazy, dumb and fat (Chinese are generally teeny tiny!) Americans better learn to clean up their own act and nation.

As for those Apache helicopters... its figures, America is the biggest purveyor of WMDs in one form or another.

Speaking of which, I never felt afraid in China and a large part of that was because of no FUCKING guns! Going through airport security -- entering, leaving and within China -- was less onerous as well. First thing that struck me upon returning stateside was all the sidearms on the hips of American security personnel in customs.

12. Message boards/comments sections in general are a waste of time

and are disturbing in how ignorant people in general are. Just read the number of brain dead comments regarding any story or video on youtube. Somehow half the comments always end up being racist, xenophobic, or anti-semitic. And the story could be about anything. People just take advantage of the anonymity on the internet to be ass holes.

And America at this point is turning increasingly inward and more isolationist after over ten years of constant war - and a shaky economic recovery. I'll admit, even I'm leaning more in that direction than I have in the past, but very few people (anywhere in my observation, but we have a seemingly greater share in the US) have any understanding of world history or geopolitics. The key problem I find is people, especially in the US, are often incapable of or have a difficult time understanding others' perspectives due to their culture and history. I see that problem all the time, even on a site like this. This lack of empathy and understanding is especially evident when it comes to any discussion related to foreign affairs of any kind, immigration, or other national security issues.
