NEW YORK (AP) - A New Jersey-based newspaper publisher is suing Sarah Palin and her political action committee for copyright infringement over the use of an iconic Sept. 11 photograph.
A lawsuit filed Friday in Manhattan federal court by North Jersey Media Group Inc. says Palin's SarahPAC posted a copy of the photo on its website and Facebook page without permission.
The photo depicts three New York City firefighters hoisting an American flag among the rubble at the World Trade Center after the attacks.

(15,189 posts)Poor little Sarah. She didn't know any better. Hell, she didn't even bother to look up what a VP does let alone read laws. Aren't those Amerika's pictures anyways? Just think of the lawsuits Paul Revere and Thomas Jefferson would of had against this ninny. Ringing bells, shooting his gun, and shouting out "The Liberals Are Coming Reload"
She uses other people words inj her books, why not other peoples pictures.

(14 posts)is, 1) Sarah Palin was mightily incensed in November 2010 when several online news sources published excerpts from her book "Going Rogue". She tweeted this November 18, 2010: "The publishing world is LEAKING out-of-context excerpts of my book w/out my permission? Isn't that illegal?"
2) As far back as the early 1990s her maxim has apparently been, "...I can do whatever I want until the courts tell me I can't.'" Also, according to her husband Todd: "What's in it for us?"
So, it's way past time the courts told her she can't, and levied a penalty to make sure she gets the message.
Ironically, this will probably prompt another SarahPAC fund drive to help her pay that penalty... ;-/
