Specifically, his involvement in the selection of the egregious Sarah Palin as McCain's running mate. He's never gonna live that down...

in picking her initially, he started to regret having done so once the campaign got going and he realized, too late, what a disaster she was.

And he continues to lie about many things, too, so while I appreciate his candor on some things; he still has so much to atone for.

A loser and one easy to defeat and Democrats won running against her. Besides this, look at all the jokes we would have missed.

Great book with lots of inside info on both the Democrats and Republicans. But I must say, I felt sorry for Palin, she was so in over her head and instead of trying to help her, all the republicans wanted to do is use her to raise money.

Yes, she was in over her head, but she always was in politics for her own aggrandizement and profit. She thought she'd hit the big time when McCain (or Steve Schmidt) picked her - and she loved, loved, loved it that now she was somebody - but she was never willing to do the hard work involved in a political campaign. She was, and is, an ignorant grifter who hated it that she had to go back to Alaska and be nobody again. Which is why she quit her nothing job as governor halfway through her term. More money and fame could be had by being a right-wing tv celebrity, and without having to actually work.

I do not feel sorry for her. Not for a minute.

I have no sympathy for Sarah Palin. She's a moronic former beauty queen from a backwoods shit town in Alaska who got picked as a candidate for the vice presidency because she had two X chromosomes--nothing more. The fact that she turned into a beacon of worship for every drooling Tea Party Neanderthal moron out there was ENTIRELY her doing.
