Just got through to Cornyn's office.

I've been trying to get through to Cornyn's office since Monday to give my comments about the shut down. To be perfectly clear, I've only been able to call his office during breaks and my lunch hour as I work during the day. But the lines have either been busy, or when I've tried to reach a person (as opposed to voicemail), there's been no answer.

Today was the first day I was able to get a live person on the other end of the line. I gave them my comments and the young lady took them cordially.

I am hopeful that the fact that it's taken me this long to get through means that there are MANY other Texans doing the same thing.

Gutless Cruz is hiding behind voicemail. I've exhausted all of the options given in his outgoing message at his office. Whatever option you choose - it goes to a voicemail.

Pock...pock...pock...

Glenn Beck wants Louie Ghomert to primary Sen. Boxturtle

For several days now, Glenn Beck has been leading a campaign to convince Rep. Louie Gohmert to launch a primary challenge against Republican Senator John Cornyn in Texas. Today, Gohmert called into Beck’s radio program where Beck told Gohmert that he had been praying on the question and the answer that he heard from God is that Gohmert should run.

Ghomert demurred, saying that he’d need to raise millions of dollars to launch such a challenge, which prompted Beck to tell him that he should not worry about that since God will provide all the funding he would need because “we live in a time of miracles.”

“You are the guy,” Beck assured him. “As long as we’re on God’s side, who could stand against us?”

Cornyn's bad...but Gohmert (with or without God on his side!!! LOL) would be a disaster!

Texas may be a red state but even Texas is not stupid enough to elect Ghomert to a statewide seat. I would love to see a primary between Boxturtle and Ghomert. I understand that the Texas Democratic party are talking to a couple of good candidates to take on Boxturtle and the prospect of a primary fight between Ghomert and Boxturtle could help these recruitment efforts

6. For me, I am hoping to see one of the Castro brothers run against Boxturtle.

With Wendy Davis announcing her campaign for governor, I hope that neither of the Castro brothers (Julian, being the most likely) will decide to run for governor this time, but will instead, go after Boxturtle's seat.

I'm sure the Texas Democratic party has it all worked out, but my pick would be Wendy for governor, Julian for Senator, and keep Joaquin in the house for the time being.

Wendy will have a formidable opponent in Greg Abbott, but I think she's got a real shot!

It is my understanding that this is more likely now that Senator Davis has decided to run

I hope the Castros will steer clear of this gubanatorial campaign so as not to divide the Democrats in Texas. The twins are only 39 and have plenty of time for years to come.
