Republican loyalty to their party astounds me.

I've been seeing articles all day about the internal struggles in the Republican party. Shouting, "lynch mobs," weeping -- you name it.

I've seen tons of evidence that America is blaming the Republicans for the shutdown and they know it, Boehner has even said so. Even their Wall Street Masters are making their displeasure known (they know we're all dead if the U.S. stops being the reserve currency).

You'd think their natural instinct for self preservation would kick in and they'd throw the Tea Party to the wolves, side with the Democrats and open the Government.

But they won't cut their losses, offer Cruz or Rubio up as a sacrificial lamb and move on. They're downing the national party for the sake of a few freshmen who are making rookie mistakes.

I've never seen stubbornness this intense in politics in my 40 years.

The Senate isn't playing along, because the Republicans there have to win in statewide races.

In the House, gerrymandering means the Republicans do not fear losing their seat to a Democrat. They have nothing to fear from the left. On the other hand, they do have to fear a challenger from the right.

They're acting perfectly logically to maintain their own position in the current environment...greater party be damned.

But I think the leadership does what it does not out of loyalty to the party but because someone behind the scenes has a carrot and a stick waiting for them.

not get paid in a government shutdown. The god damn idiot wouldn't sign it because the President won't negotiate. What an
a-hole. That has nothing to do with cutting their pay in a gov't shutdown. And truthfully I did not know he was even an R
but this guy gets a gov't disability; social security; and a pension. Gov't hasn't been good to him has it?
