Ho-hum reaction to shutdown says it all

By David Rothkopf,

(CNN) -- It speaks volumes that America's government could be shut down with its leaders blaming one another for bringing the country to the edge of the economic abyss, and the response of much of the world, including the leading financial markets, would essentially be a yawn.

Isn't this a major issue in America today? Americans feel disenfranchised.

We're not even sure if our vote counts due to redistricting and questionable ballots.

Americans are not as mad as they should be because they have become used to a Congress that does not work.

Americans love America but they feel that Washington is out of control and has been for a long time.
