I have been helping with Democratic Campaigns since 76

My parents practically lived in Democratic HQ's during the 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85 and 86 elections. Then they moved and Democratic HQ's was so messed up because they didn't think Dukakis had a chance I argued that we still needed to send Democrats to the Statehouse and to the US Congress House and Senate, as well as local elected positions. I was 19 in 88 and I have continued to see it since then here in Ohio and in South Carolina where I spent 17 of the last 19 years I lived in Joe Wilson's district. The problem is Democrats in both of those places feel demoralized and demonized. We have to try harder and do it nationwide to get democrats elected. We need real grassroots going door to door, making phone calls, doing lit drops even if it is in a republican district. I know we can do it if we try hard enough. I watched my parents do it and since I lost them both this year. I will honor their legacy by doing whatever I can to elect more Democrats to every level of Government. They went door to door making lit drops and talking to folks, they made phone calls they answered phones at HQ's and passed out literature to people who came in. I don't see that anymore we need to get back to it as a party so we can rid ourselves of the radicals most Americans don't like them and would vote for sane individuals given the choice Where these clowns are unopposed we need to get democrats to run against them.

Become a precinct committeeman in your voting precinct. If you see someone running unopposed then run against them. Doing just that does not cost any real money. You may not have any money for literature but being a candidate often allows you free publicity in newspapers, forums and other media.
