How I see the House "counter-proposal" to the Senate's negotiations ...

I remember that, in the run-up to Bush43 invading and occupying Iraq, at the last minute, (according to "news" reports), Saddam Hussein opened up to bargaining to keep the invasion from happening.

Republicans and George W. Bush blasted the idea as "a distraction", based out of fear and toothless.

That's how I see the GOP proposal ... a last minute plea for the media to portray them as "being reasonable".

Of course, with today's "liberally-biased media", they're likely to get their wish ...

One of the provisions of the new House bill John Boehner is planning to bring to a floor vote today would prohibit the Treasury Department from taking extraordinary measures to prevent government default the next time we approach a breach of the debt limit.
