But if somebody clicked on the general link tonight or tomorrow, the post you're citing might be three or four down. The permalink will always go to it directly.

If you click on it, it will take you to a page with that entry alone (plus the comments on it), and you can copy and paste the URL.
(Or you can simply right-click on the title and then choose "copy link location" from the pop-up menu. But that's a bit more complicated.)
