McCarthy Hopes Obama Didn't Hatch Iran Deal To Distract From Obamacare

Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the No. 3 Republican in the House, said Sunday that he hoped the Obama administration hadn't used a nuclear deal with Iran to distract from the problems of Obamacare.

But McCarthy also said when being asked about it on CBS's "Face the Nation" that he would withhold judgement on the matter. The question came after Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) appeared to accuse the administration of using the deal as a distraction from the health care law.

"I know they need some other type of news, but that would be the biggest mistake any administration could do," McCarthy said. "I would hope that would never be the case."

He also said that the agreement reached with Iran to end its nuclear weapons program "is not a historic deal."

He said that he and Iran’s leaders will be putting their heads together in the days and weeks ahead to see “if there’s anything else we can do to help Obama out of this health-care mess.”

4. That was this morning's talking points on all of the Sunday morning talking shows. Face the Nation..

I thought was one of the more respectable shows, there was no balance on the panel whatsoever. Everyone on the panel agreed that Obama was trying to "wag the dog" to distract from his "abysmal" poll numbers. Now I see this article which confirms what I already knew.
