2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumNow Crispy says he was "misled" by his aides
What I've seen today for the first time is unacceptable, the statement read. I am outraged and deeply saddened to learn that not only was I misled by a member of my staff, but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge. One thing is clear: this type of behavior is unacceptable and I will not tolerate it because the people of New Jersey deserve better. This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way, and people will be held responsible for their actions. - See more at: http://www.northjersey.com/news/christie_kelly_bridge_lane_closures_emails.html#sthash.csOl11T7.dpuf
He apparently said this with a straight face. Now, if there is a smoking gun I am gonna laugh my ass off.

If he wasn't involved why didn't he investigate immediately and fire the guilty underlings.
He didn't know anything about it until the press found proof?
I don't see how he can overcome this.
He's gone.
