Gov. Nikki Haley says union jobs not welcome in SC

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Gov. Nikki Haley constantly stresses her efforts to bring jobs to South Carolina.

But Haley says she discourages companies from moving to the state if they will bring a unionized workforce.

Haley told The Greenville News on Wednesday she does not want union jobs in the state. Haley was in Greenville for an automotive conference.

Haley says she's happy for the non-union jobs at BMW, Michelin and Boeing. But she would not like to see Ford, General Motors or Chrysler in South Carolina.

...and presently anti-union unorganized workers will begin to want the benefits of collective bargaining, too. You can't convince people to vote against their best interests forever, especially when they begin to see their neighbors living better lives and making better wages.

4. So the Repubs are now openly conceding they do not care about job creation?

Yes, many of us have known for years that right wingers' claims about supporting job creation have been nothing but bullshit. Yet for them to openly turn away jobs because of their fears that unions will turn their constituents into Democrats is certainly a brazen power grab from Haley and those like her.
