2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDid GOTV really work?
Although no one will ever know why Cantor really lost (and to be quite honest, I don't really care), some have said that it was because the democrats got out to vote against him. If this is true, then GOTV is actually starting to take hold in this country. The word must be spreading, which gives us hope in November. GOTV!!!!!

You are right that we still need to GOTV in 2014.

(29,722 posts)we must still work to GOTV! Take someone to the polls, carry registration forms with you and ask if people (anyone you meet/talk to) if they're registered, if not, whip out a form and fill it out with them and turn it in!

(35,701 posts)heavily Republican (and very conservative) part of the district which was gerrymandered in after the 2010 census to make the district more "safe" for Cantor. That is the gist of the articles in the WP anyway. Karma, baby.
The bad news is that this makes it harder for a Democrat to take the district also but if some Cantor supporters stay home and independents decide that Brat is too conservative - with a good GOTV effort it might indeed be possible.
