(34,402 posts)Lee Atwater-like race baiting going on, just the cold, hard fact that Abbott thinks that corporations have more rights than actual humans. After all, to baggers like Abbott, corporations are people too my friend...

(16,104 posts)I would have expected this from a dark money PAC.
But this is a Wendy Davis ad.
So there are 2 messages here. One, Greg Abbott is a bad human being. And, 2, Wendy Davis is ready for nasty negative Texas hardball! 'Cause the gloves are off!

(35,015 posts)Abbott is every bit as awful as she says he is, and she's definitely ready to fight to the finish line. If he thought "abortion barbie" was going to listen to the naysayers and not fight his bullshit, he's in for a surprise. 12 weeks until election day.

(14,449 posts)She needs to win this but the Summer has been a bust. She should have been going all over trying to get rid of the Abbott lead. She is behind and needs to figure a way to win this. Do you think she is winning right now? Just interested in your answer.

(4,695 posts)Speaking at a campaign event, Nugent introduced Abbott as his friend and blood brother, as well as the epitome of what our founding fathers wanted as a representative, according to the San Antonio Express.
We dont have to question Greg Abbotts courage because he invited me here today, he said.

(16,916 posts)fucking cool! I honestly had given up on Davis. I saw this ad, and my opinion just flipped.
For everyone that sees it, two more will talk about it. Good or bad, who cares, as long as they talk. In the coming month, Davis can refer back to the ad with shorter clips, keeping it alive in our memory.
I hope the reason she's been holding back is because she's got a half dozen more, each just as effective, and has been allowing Abbott to spend himself out while she saves up for a big finish.
If you can't out spend them, out think them.

(30,058 posts)There is a lot of dirty rotten dogs in office in Texas, Abbott is just one. Dan Patrick is not a good person and though Rick Perry is not running in this election we have tolerated him since 2001, time for the lot of them to go.

(58,899 posts)Republicans in Oklahoma elected a Dr. who sterilized a woman without her consent. And we've seen scumbag after scumbag elected no matter how bad they are because Republicans voters only care about the (R) next to their names. In a rational world, this ad would would work, but this is Texas.

(13,877 posts)typically, especially with well-known company names/products, the distributors (and their employees) are considered agents for the company. That is why homeowners, businesses, municipalities have liability insurance. If you fall and slip in someone's house, suing the homeowner will hardly bring financial satisfaction. Thus, homeowner's liability insurance.
I can hardly believe that Kirby...who provides a massive sales force that has taken products into people's homes for decades...does not have liability insurance covering their distributors...for which they would have to pay. In real estate and insurance it's called Errors and Omissions insurance. The agent makes a mistake, the broker's E&O will have to pay.
Absolutely they are liable and the insurance company will settle. Quickly. It's a trusted household name/product and they are the ones who will lose in the public/consumer's mind if they don't do so. Plus, it makes Abbott look like the Ass he is.
