They have some system where they collect the votes, (mail-in or early) and turn them in at the proper time.

'Not in person' are the votes that should really be scrutinized. a few thousand votes is the difference between win/lose in a lot of districts.

5. Firing Joe Paterno

Seriously ...

Corbett has been putrid as PA governor.

Sold out the state to fracking interests. Has been so extreme in his policy agenda to pour money into for profit education that even our stronghold R senate and house can't get behind it, butched up the lottery system, signed a voter ID law so bad it has died in the courts.

But, none of that would matter (and sadly for republicans they eat most of that shit up ...) one bit, he would easily win re-election.

He has been wrong in nearly every way with the Jerry Sandusky situation, from not prosecuting him when he was AG before getting elected governor to being publically critical of Penn State in the immediate aftermath.

But he MIGHT even be able to ride that out except it has been widely reported that HE drove the ham handed firing of Joe Paterno.

If you aren't from PA, you can't know how literally many PSU fans, not just alumni, but average people who did not go to school at PSU, viewed JoPa as a living deity.

And, make no mistake, the same bullshit that PSU people have developed to make themselves into the victims over the Sandusky situation mirrors the republican self delusions because most of these people are rock solid Rs.

It is going to tighten, and they may not vote FOR Wolf, but Corbett is in a WORLD of trouble because there are 100,000s of automatic, party line R voters who are not going to vote for him in November for one simple reason - Joe Paterno.
