Joe Scarborough reacts to 9 year old who killed instructor at shooting range w/semiautomatic weapon

9 year old girl accidentally shoots instructor with Uzi at shooting range. Joe Scarborough gets irate as he comments. Sadly, it is the Right Wing nuts created by Joe Scarborough, Newt Gingrich and others who were anathema to regulations that makes this a reality.

These people are. Hey sweetie, we want you to see what this grotesque mass murder machine feels like to fire! Isn't it cool? Can you imagine blowing away a bunch of people with that thing?

Just the thought of my daughter holding that thing gets me sick.

Admittedly it was many decades ago when I was her age, but we didn't have "bucket lists". Why does a 9 year old have a bucket list, unless encouraged to do so by her parents?

was interviewed by Chris Hayes and he stated "this was something that was high on her bucket list to do, and her parents took her out to do what she was going to do."

Which makes it all the worse. It's not like this was a spur of the moment decision, they had time to perhaps conclude that this particular item should be put on hold.

Now my daughter was a pretty good rider at age nine but I would never have let her take a spin around the track on California Chrome or any other racehorse in active training for that matter. A kid that age simply lacks the strength to handle such a high strung powerful animal.

Now of course no one in their right mind is going to let a little kid ride a million dollar race horse but seems to me that the same logic applies. This young girl simply wasn't strong enough to control the weapon.

I don't know if the parents were gun nuts blinded by ideology or totally ignorant when it comes to weapons, either way they were incredibly stupid. The rifle range of course should have known it but some people put money over safety. Both were negligent and now this poor kid's life is ruined.

Maybe they should be put on trial for endangering their child.

Which involved the older folks who were trying to do things before they died.

The term has changed in the years since and you can go to lots of places online like Pinterest and see all sorts of "bucket list" things.

it's a generic term of things you want to do. Family bucket lists, summer activities bucket list.

So it's not a "do before you die" thing. That's just what a casual observer might think based on the "popularity" of a single movie.

Here's a few types just in a quick google:

I'm pretty much out of the loop when it comes to such matters.

The parents are to blame for this. If they had first hand experience with automatic weapons they'd know better. If they weren't knowledgeable they should have done a little research first.

commerical sales association, using psychological methods to make more money, and the Bill of Rights to make their profits seem noble.

They have no place in the political sphere, as they have no philosophy. They are con artists distorting our government and lives as much as the Kochs.

The GOA are worse, as they want to bring down the entire government so their oppression of others will be unchallenged. It is why they hate all elements of government, it is a barrier to profit.

We can seize back our power through citizen participation, or be ruled by the private gun men Rand Paul loves:

There is no room for social mobility under them, as they have the advantages and want to set a moment in time in stone where they rule. The media and RW pols have been defunding proper social programs and oversight of policing, demonizing the 'others' to scare people into thinking they must arm to survive in a war zone.

That's not the liberty and freedom they pretend to love. They say guns make us secure, but they do not:

If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom.

It used to be that the pen was mightier than the sword. The pen is now a seat on national television, and Joe has a responsibility to bring truth to viewers. He only seems to be outraged when it is in his political interests.

these weapons are toys and they play with them as such and they let their kids play with them as such. I bet these parents are gun nuts who did not support any type of gun restrictions. I think there is a difference in gun enthusiasts and gun nuts. A enthusiast thinks that there should be limits to what type of guns and ammo civilians should own and they believe in intensive back ground checks. Nuts don't want any of that, basically they are slaves to the gun industry.

The parents are to blame for this. They apparently thought that guns are toys and they also were over indulgent with their daughter. Where did the desire to want to fire a Uzi come from in the first place? Hmmmmm.

Sadly it happens when adults let children control machines that they are not ready to control.

I hate when it happens with guns or other machines.
