So it looks like the senate may be gone with GOP picking up as many as 9 seats , god I hope that is wrong , but god forbid if this is true , what does this portend for the future ? Could we be possibly looking at a Repub trifecta house senate and presidency and Supreme Court for as far as the eye can see , especially if Dems of their usual despair deal , what scares me is we become a one party state because of apathy ! Talk me down! Ugh

(6,107 posts)wow, maybe you can move to Mexico, or Canada..... why would I talk you down. Its the gloom and doom people that will allow this to happen. Instead of talking like the world is going to blow up tomorrow, go to your local democrat headquarters and help volunteer at a polling area, visit you neighbors and talk to them, donate some money, do something except sliding into the pit of despair. And for your information, in 2016, all the remaining Senate seats are up for reelection, or majority of them, and that will be a nightmare for the right. If they do swing the Senate, a do nothing GOP lead senate will be worse then what they have now. Mr. Obama will have a veto party in the coming years.... there will not be any right wing crazy legislation passed. 2/3 majority to override a veto, and it won't happen.

(21,743 posts)batshit crazy legislation.
I will also give you odds that the very first thing they do will be to eliminate the filibuster. Imagine that, Harry.

Vote, and the choice is yours. Don't vote and the choice is theirs.
