Related: About this forumWarner too early to call?! Looks like a bloodbath tonight.
Incredible, stupid voters. Yes, they are stupid for giving any Republican more power.

(7,820 posts)Almost across the board. Less populated areas- less votes to count. High density, urban areas that tend to go Dem- take longer to come in.

(1,713 posts)Warner is a lock to win the seat. Don't be fooled by early returns in small districts, those always skew heavily GOP even in a wave Democratic year. That's just the nature of small rural districts. The GOP would have to build a lead so large that high-population urban centers couldn't overcome it, and that's an extreme longshot for it to happen in Virginia, which is more and more blue every year.

(4,551 posts)Remember that it looked like Romney was going to win in Virginia in 2012, but then Obama pulled ahead once Northern Virginia came in.
I think that will happen tonight, too. Once the Washington suburbs come in for Northern Virginia, I think Warner will move ahead of Gillespie.

(15,435 posts)Romney winning for a very long time, then some counties took a very long time. Said same thing happening now. He seemed to feel that Warner will pull it out.
Who knows!

This is a better result for Gillespie and the Republicans in VA than expected.
At least Jeanne Shaheen and Kay Hagan are leading in their races so far.
