A discussion about the current filibuster rules in the Senate

I know that Sen. Reid changed some of the rules regarding judicial appointments and the filibuster. I'm not keen on if that was all that changed. Can anyone give a breakdown of what they are? What can and can't be filibustered now?

How is this going to effect us moving forward? Does anyone know what the Kentucky Turtle is going to do about the rules?

I know this is not a popular topic right now but it is staring us in the face. All I can find are stories online that are right winger websites talking about this. I don't see any threads on here talking about it.

Should we start making phone calls to our Senators to do something before the Turtle takes over?

are not subject to filibuster. I don't know about other appointees such as cabinet jobs. That rule can stay until next Feb(I believe) and the new senate session begins. My own opinion is the Dems brought this mess on themselves by not changing the filibuster rule to a realistic value like 54 votes, instead of letting the Repukes bring down the country because some dumb fucking senators wanted to preserve tradition. The rumor was that Reid wanted to do that but several members(Dems) opposed it, so he went along.
