That "lesser of two evils" argument is getting so old I'm starting to think a majority of Americans

when given the choice, will actually opt for true evil over evil-light, and that makes me sad for the planet and the future of humankind. Either that, or the (enough to matter, anyways) ballot counting really is as corrupt as some have feared. I'm not feeling very hopeful right now

It is either: The way the votes are counted, or America is truly doomed.

I prefer the idea - with tons of evidence to back it up - that the votes are not counted the way votes were cast.

The other day on DU, we saw the computer system of DU have a, uh, a glitch. It actually showed pizza'd posters recommending threads!! Now how's that for counting votes???

So... it happens.

Here in NC, a close US Senate race was decided by just enough votes to rule out a recount. Seen it happen more than once... just enough of a republican win to halt any recount.

Anyway... it sure beats thinking the nation is over-full of idiots.

The candidates know this too and can demand a recount but only automatic recounts are paid for by the states (please correct me if I am wrong). If we are going to get to the bottom of this we must have candidates to expose this and not these get-a-long politicians that won't rock the boat. Somewhere along the line contesting the vote was associated to be akin to treason and just quietly fading away was the gentlemanly thing to do. Wrong. These gentlemen and ladies then wait patiently for an ambassadorship or some crony position while the people slowly fell deeper into the abyss. It's time for a progressive coop group to be formed to pick our candidates and run the ground game. You say moveon, pccc, blue america and others exist and I ask are they coops. Can anybody tell me how many paid employees vs volunteers each group has and their executive compensations? I'm tired of supporting pretend progressives that underneath it all are corporatists driven by income and not principals. Also can anybody guide me to the exact dollar amounts these groups spent on each of their visually advertised candidates on their websites. I'm hoping 80-90% of their donations were spent on these candidates.

We need to overthrow our leaders who failed to GOTV.

Simple as that. Put a new leader at the helm and right this ship!

Now is the time. We have a few months to find new local leaders and replace those who have failed to GOTV.

Because, short of questioning the count, the only way to beat the miscounts is an overwhelming vote.

She has huge negatives with both the far right and the left. She only polls ok with "moderates".
