When will Democrats learn to frame an issue RE Keystone XL?

1) The pipeline should be referred to always as the TransCanada Corporation Pipeline.

2)Forget the environmental argument. You already have the support of the environmentalists. You need to convince the conservatives.

3) Appeal to populism. Why should hardworking American family farmers be forced to give their land (that has been held in their families for generations) over to a foreign corporation to build a pipeline that profits Canadian millionaires?

4) Appeal to patriotism. Since when do we give our American land over to a foreign corporation?

5 )Appeal to fiscal conservatives. Why should American taxpayers subsidize a foreign enterprise?

6) Highlight TransCanada's record in building the Alaska pipeline. Alaska taxpayers spent 500 million dollars in partnership with TransCanada to build a pipeline through Alaska. TransCanada never finished the project because they decided it was not profitable enough, leaving Alaskan taxpayers holding the bag.

7) Point out that another foreign corporation, British Petroleum, has refused to pay for damages to American fishermen and landowners damaged by their oil leaks, and are now fighting against American citizens in American courts.
