Okay, so Elizabeth Warren isn't running. How about Kirsten Gillibrand?

I saw her on Colbert the other night, and she's dynamite! When she was first appointed to the Senate after Hillary became SoS, I was like, " Some obscure congressperson from (more conservative) upstate? " But she's been a very pleasant surprise; she's been a leader on LGBT issues, for instance.

So maybe there's hope after all for those of us who are ready for a woman President, just not that one.

And things change.
People change.
That was then, this is now.

So, even though she may have said that, it doesn't mean that is the way she feels now.
In order to get elected to the House, you have a much smaller constituency to appeal to for their votes.
She has taken on the military over who should be prosecuting rapists within the military, along with Senator Boxer, so I think she has some good qualities.

Maybe the truth is, now that she is a Senator, she can afford to be more liberal.
Politics is a tricky game to play, after all.
In previous times, maybe she had to be pragmatic, and held back from being as liberal as she wanted to be.

your dissatisfaction and constructive criticism from the Dem Wing of the party to the Corporate Wing..they hang up on you..as did Reids ofc earlier today and as did one of the house minority leaders (Durbin) and as did the DNC...

Now they're starting (or someone is) to Toss the Dem Wing under the bus.
Yet, while corp Dems failed--progs won...
There were so many progressive measures passed around the country from min wage increases-to justice reform-to Monsanto-to cannabis legalization-to ERA...and so on. I'm learning from my phone calls before they hang up that apparently..None of that matters because???? (I don't know)

Not that I expected any hugs, apologies and kumbaya moments, but I did expect some reflection and "lessons learned" from the raw reality of this mid term.
I was Wrong!
This is why good Democrats are leaving this party with their middle finger extended to the Democratic Leadership imo.

of the time and she's 10-12 years younger than Clinton or Warren if that's a criteria (it isn't to me, but many on DU have recently decided otherwise). She definitely has the potential to go all the way

She really has made us proud. I agree that she's not a real liberal, but she is progressive on most important issues and she was elected and reelected in a district (NY-20) that had a long tradition of electing and reelecting prominent Republicans.

Many people here don't like Hillary because she's 'third way, 'DLC,' etc. Then they offer alternatives who are 'third way, 'DLC,' etc.
