Romney, Freud, and high-school "pranks"

Latest research has confirmed what Freud hypothesized long ago, namely that homophobia is a cover for uncomfortable homosexual feelings - fascinating work:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/29/opinion/sunday/homophobic-maybe-youre-gay.html?_r=1

This may shed light on the question, "Why did Romney promptly and vehemently disavow the attempt by a wealthy individual to revisit Rev Wright's association with Obama?"

Was this act an expression of honorable behavior on the part of Romney? This doesn't add up, really. Romney is a calculating narcissist incapable of guilt and to whom telling lies is just a matter of cost-benefit analysis. He knows that a 10 million investment in revisiting that issue would have benefited him greatly.

A better explanation is that revisiting irrelevant issues of the past, such as the Obama-Wright connection, would have validated revisiting Romney's past homophobic behavior. In light of current research, the odds are that Romney attacked his effeminate classmate in reaction to his own homosexual feelings. Under closer scrutiny, what other inconvenient indiscretions might have come to light no one knows, but the fact that Romney denies "remembering" what happened, an obvious lie, only strengthens this argument.

Having in the White House a pathological narcissist like Romney may prove far more harmful than his callousness and calculating character suggest - as someone who believes in missing tablets, flying blue-eyed Hebrews and that favoring the rich benefits the poor, this guy may just be the very embodiment of what went wrong with America.

Freud said homophobia can cover homosexual feelings.
Kinsey found that the number of men who had at least one sexual contact with another man was over 30%.
Kinsey also had his "Kinsey Scale" which stated that people weren't always either gay or straight, but could be one with tendencies toward the other.

I am not saying Romney is in the closet. But, I know what it is like to be raised in a church which hates homosexuals. I also know the personal conflict of having homosexual feelings while being in one of these churches, not to mention the pressure from family and society. Although I should have realized I was gay from the age of 13 or 14 I denied it till I was about 21, then hid in the closet till I was about 30. While I was denying and in the closet I was extremely homophobic, I didn't express this by bullying anyone directly, but I made it be know the "disgust" of this "choice". Now as a proud and out gay man I don't condone the actions of my youth, but I know the conflict these people feel.

But to the question "Why did Romney promptly and vehemently disavow the attempt by a wealthy individual to revisit Rev Wright's association with Obama"?

I feel this may be for this reason. To revisit Rev. Wright would open the door to really examine some of the beliefs of the Mormon church which Romney belongs. The Mormon church often is considered to be a cult to the conservative Christian church. This is giving a lot of conservatives great hesitations to supporting Romney.

public awareness church walls everywhere are going to come tumbling down.

Jesus' prioritization of people to people love made him a liberator and that's why his CHURCH-STATE killed him.

And who best to help lead us ALL out of bondage than those who have known it longest and are most intimately aware of it?
