(11,417 posts)I will work for her if I can since I will be retired and have time on my hands.
There are those who think she could be the first Black Woman President.

(11,417 posts)I have some buddies in California that I will discuss her with. Poor things trust me on such matters.
One is a socially liberal libertarian, though. Guns, precious metals, the whole nine yards. Kind man, though.
I have little hope of convincing him, but I will give it my best try anyway.

(6,336 posts)He's running for governor.
In a good year, other than your ones with asterixes, I'd like to see the Democrats seriously contest NC (which they barely lost in a shitty year for them), IA (see NC, moreso as it could be open given Grassley's age), AZ (given McCain's age).
The only Democrat I worry about is Harry Reid. He only won in 2010 because the GOP put up a crazy ass opponent (although I wish he would let someone younger assume his leadership role).

(6,336 posts)I don't know politics in that neck of the woods, but on paper she'd be a good candidate (with a presidential electorate). I'm not sure about her fundraising abilities and if she wants to go through this all over again.

(45,251 posts)I get that the name means something in Louisiana, but geez. How do you expect someone to vote for a Democratic Senator after you tell them you didn't vote for a Democratic President--and put them down?
Fresh blood might have a better chance.

(14,308 posts)Should pick up Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania.
North Carolina, Missouri, Florida, Arizona, Georgia, Ohio all possibles depending on retirements.
Only Nevada and Colorado look vulnerable.

(45,251 posts)With Democratic Senators in the minority and people like Senator Hognuts, the caucus is going to need his mastery of rules and procedure more than ever.

(22,000 posts)Hopefully Reid's health will improve and he will be able to serve one more term.
As for pickups I agree with you on Florida, and Ohio. North Carolina, Missouri, and Georgia would be tough battles and require a great candidate for each of the races.
I think Ayotte (NH), Grassley (IA), Johnson (WI), Kirk (IL), Portman (OH), and Toomey (PA) are all possible pick offs as well.
2016 could be a better year for us with a high presidential election turnout.
