Scott Walker 6th in poll of Republicans' support for nominee; Jeb Bush 1st

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker tied for sixth in a new national poll asking Republicans who they would support among potential GOP presidential candidates in 2016.

The CBS News poll showed Jeb Bush leading the way among a crowded field, with Mike Huckabee a close second.

The poll, released Wednesday, said 49 percent of the self-identified Republican voters would support Bush as the candidate, followed by Huckabee at 46 percent, Marco Rubio at 37 percent, Rick Perry and Ben Carson both at 34 percent, Walker and Rand Paul both at 30 percent, Rick Santorum and Chris Christie at 28 percent, Ted Cruz at 23 percent and Bobby Jindal at 18 percent.

Among voters who describe themselves as very conservative, Walker led the way at 50 percent, followed by Huckabee at 47 percent.

The CBS News poll also showed that very few Republicans would not consider supporting Walker, with the Wisconsin governor tying Carson for the lowest percentage of voters not thinking of him as the candidate (10 percent).

In that part of the poll, Christie did the worst, with 43 percent not considering voting for the New Jersey governor if he's the candidate.

I am not a fan of Bobby Jindal, but any party which picks the likes of Ben Carson, Rick Santorum, and Ted Cruz ahead of a sitting governor is in fruitcake land.
