2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCT governor Dan Malloy for president?
Heard him on Chris Matthews and he was brilliant and forthcoming in attacking Indiana Pence.
Hoosiers had some rough days? he asked. How do you think gays have been feeling these days?
I was a prosecutor, he said. I can easily prosecute even the "correction."
At least, join O'Malley and Hillary on a stage in a debate. This is really pathetic that we cannot find anyone.
And, yes, I am biased toward governors and others with executive experience.

I do like Malloy.
question everything
(47,536 posts)It is just that earlier I had another thread wishing to get beyond Hillary-Warren-Sanders and the response was kinda Meh.
Was not aware of Malloy at all until I saw him on Matthews and, what's more, he held his own against Matthews who, it seems, is more interested in hearing his own voice. A different topic.

(81,873 posts)People here seemed to like him. He will drive the gun nuts crazy. I guess that's an added bonus.

(57 posts)Malloy is fine, your reasoning isn't very good though.
question everything
(47,536 posts)As I mentioned, above, I started a thread expressing my frustrations that we don't seem to expand beyond Hillary-Warren-Sanders.
The responses were not encouraging. I think that all of us, including Hillary supporters, realize that it is important to have at least one more, perhaps 2 or 3 candidates to debate her.
I am biased toward governors and others with executive experience, thus when I "met" Malloy I thought, well, here is one.
Same about O'Mally.
Many years ago, a DUer observed that were he was looking for a candidate to meet his wish list, he would run himself.
This still works for most of us.

(63,912 posts)I remember people buzzing about whether he was putting feelers out there...
you don't hear much of it now but maybe his new profile on this issue has brought it back.
CT might be just a bit too blue for the rest of the country, tho. We are a seriously progressive state comparitively speaking.
I really think a woman should head up the 2016 Dem ticket. I really wish Gillibrand would get a higher profile. But then she'd have to go west for her VP candidate. I think we're due for a Hispanic on the ticket...
