Lawmaker Considers Blocking Baltimore Protesters' Food Stamp Benefits

The comments came on a talk radio program that McDonough, a Republican who represents a Baltimore suburb, was guest hosting.

“That’s an idea, and that could be legislation,” he said in response to a caller who asked if benefits could be revoked from parents of protesters. “I think that you could make the case that there is a failure to do proper parenting, and allowing this stuff to happen—is there an opportunity for a month to take away your food stamps?”

“It will never get past the legislature because it seems a little bit harsh,” he allowed. Still, McDonough says there must be some way to hold the guardians of protesting Baltimore youths accountable for “the lack of parenting.”

He also refers to the city’s black residents as a “thug nation.”

So, what should happen to the parents of white college student who riot after their college team wins or loses a national championship?Should debt be added to their home loan? What should we do to the students? Should they lose a month's worth of student loans? In addition, what should happen to adult whites who riot after their sports team wins or loses a championship? Should they be fired? Should their pay be docked for a month?

Why do certain people act as if black people are the only people who riot? Every time there is a any type of sporting championship white people riot. However, whenever black people riot, many people act like they are to only people who riot.
