Sen. Bernie Sanders to Speak in Arlington

Sen. Bernie Sanders (photo via Facebook)Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is scheduled to be a special guest speaker at a policy forum in Arlington next week.

The discussion, entitled “Rebooting Our Policy Agenda To Reclaim The American Dream,” will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, at the National Rural Electrical Cooperative Association, at 4301 Wilson Blvd.

Sanders will be joined by Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.), a fellow member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

“This event is a free-of-charge policy discussion by leading progressive voices, not an endorsement of any candidate for public office,” an event page notes.

The event is at capacity and registration has closed.

2. I thought DU was throwing Beyer under the bus for voting for the TPP. Weren't they calling for

him to be primaried just last week? BTW, he appeared at the VA Democratic fundraising event at GMU last week with HRC.
I'm sure he'll appear with all the candidates running.

3. He is part of the discussion they planned to have..I am looking forward

to hearing anything at all on his decision. I don't know if there is a Q&A..I hope so.

4. Beyer, despite being wrong about the TPP, is a good guy & a soild

supporter of all our causes. Primary-ing him over one vote would be a mistake.

5. It is a position he placed himself in with that vote. It is important to hear him

defend it, after that, his constituents decide. I would agree the situation is
one that needs serious consideration, after all, our system makes for ugly
policies and that is why I support Sanders, and why I imagine you support
O'Malley.
