The promise of Bernie Sanders
People still misunderstand the meaning and purpose of Bernie's campaign. Although it is not possible to admit it, the promise of Bernie's campaign isn't about 2016. It's about the future. Sanders is laying down policies and ideas that will be picked up for 2018, 2020, and beyond. Sanders knows he's not a young Barack Obama out to fix the world. He is the inspiration for the NEXT Obama (2020 or later).
If he wins, great, maybe he gets a couple things done. But his campaign is about the future.
