Scott Walker: GOP can't win referendum on Obama

By Leigh Ann Caldwell

(CBS News) Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, who survived last week's recall election, said presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney won't beat President Obama unless he offers "bold" ideas.

"I don't think we win if it's just about a referendum on Barack Obama," Walker said on "Face the Nation." "I think people like [Wisconsin Rep.] Paul Ryan and others hope that he goes big and bold." Walker said.

Walker also offered advice for Romney, saying that "Governor Romney has a shot if the 'R' doesn't stand for Republican, but reformer," Walker said.

However, the Wisconsin governor disagreed with a recent statement made by presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney that Wisconsin voters opposed to "big government" reject the hiring of more teachers, police officers and firefighters.

Another GOP 'star' polishing his shoes for 2016? What does this say about Romney?

Although the ludicrous CU-enabled financial advantage (tragically) makes him the even-money favourite to this observer, there've now been a few rumblings from Republicans who might just find their own interests better served by a November defeat for the Wicker Man.

He wants more of the same that led us to this mess in the first place. Tax cuts for millionaires that don't create jobs, despite what the GOP says. Fewer regulations and oversight so corporations can break the law and make tons of money, then let the American taxpayer bail them out because they're "too big to fail."

Romney has nothing new to offer, just more of the same. He's just like George W. Bush, and the GOP is hoping no one notices.

But knowing the Rethugs, they won't have a damn plan to fix the economy without wrecking the economy or the planet.

They're counting on big money and dumb ads to win the day, which barely worked in Wisconsin. That formula won't work elsewhere.

But hey, don't listen to Walker, whose state exit polls favored President O by a big margin. Be hard-headed! See how far that gets you! It worked wonders for Palin!

Another downside to the failure of the recall is this idiot's blatherings will be news right up until the day they slap the cuffs on him.

Not sure what his game is w/this remark but I am sure it has nothing to do with being "bold" (one of that nincompoop Sarah Palin's favorite buzzwords) and everything to do with future jury influencing.
