Please help us. Move to Wisconsin!

Last edited Sun Jun 10, 2012, 08:57 PM - Edit history (1)

In the past we have considered moving out of Wisconsin. After the failure of the Walker recall we started considering moving again. We really don't want to live in a red state. But we love Wisconsin and moving away will just give more power to those who want to ruin this state. Sooooooo..... why don't we invite liberals to move here?
We suggest a call for help to any liberal/progressive that is thinking about moving to move to Wisconsin where we still have a great environment, consumer and environmental protections, a strong economy, a history of progressive government, wonderful state parks, beautiful hunting grounds, great health care and terrific schools among other reasons to move here. Help us save our state, move to Wisconsin.
The idea is, of course, instead of moving out of state urge like minded people to move here. There are plenty of people who are liberals that live in states where the situation is hopeless, say North or South Carolina for instance. Come to where the grass is truly greener. Move to Wisconsin. I'm telling you, this is a great idea and the ads would not only bring people here, they would put fear into the hearts of conservatives throughout the state and make a strong political statement.
The time is right for political migration.

I lived in Wisconsin for 6 months out of all the states I have lived in Wisconsin was my favorite. I live in Minnesota now, it is a very close second favorite. I would be my favorite possibly if I lived in a less urban area, but probably not, I am not sure I could deal with a higher redneck to normal person ratio. In any case Wisconsin even with Scott Walker there is a great state.

You guys can stay there. But liberals in South Carolina you are welcome to move here as is anyone else. We only need 200,000 votes to make the difference between a conservative Governor and a liberal Governor. We can easily get a million liberals to move here and flip the vote and stop the takeover here. We really need your help and I guarantee that you will be happy here. It's a great state for now. Help us keep it that way.

Many of the people that have moved out of WI due to the weather are pretty wimpy. Wisconsin has some cold days and some hot days but overall the weather is really nice. Sure it isn't a good place for the homeless but the roads are pretty well plowed in the winter, ice is rarely a problem and the heat is hardly a factor. The 4 seasons are just about the 4 most perfect ones. Don't let the weather scare you away, let it draw you. We got it all and it is good. Except for the current state of affairs with the current occupation thanks to half of the voting population that doesn't know their ass from a hole in the wall.

If you wish to live in that part of the country more power to you. I just decided life is too short to live where the weather is bad most of the time. So now I live in an area where the weather is nice almost all year.

but that doesn't mean you know squat about Wisconsin weather.

I lived in southern Wisconsin, just north of Madison, and on the lake east of Green Bay. Winters are not as bad as in Chicago. Despite some bad winters in Chicago it continues to be a major city. I wouldn't live there myself but only because I would prefer a smaller city.

Also, all of Wisconsin is not the same when it comes to weather.

(well, my wife might argue about that "grew up" part) & it rarely even hit 50 below. Many winters it would hardly even reach 40 below. Superior, about 70 miles away, was even milder in the winter. With the moderating effects of the lake, they seldom get below -30ºF.

11. Election Fraud?
Sun Jun 10, 2012, 11:20 PM
Jun 2012

After reading the blurb about Command Central on the Wisconsin Citizens Media Co-op web site, I am extremely skeptical about the results of the Wisconsin election. The exit polls were predicting a near dead heat for the governor's office. Then somehow Mr. Walker ends up winning the race by a substantial margin. Exit polls have been used for years as a check to see if an election is rigged. However, they somehow became totally unreliable in the era of King George W. and thereafter.

The woman who is supposedly responsible for programming Wisconsin's optical scan voting machines has an office in a strip mall in St. Cloud, Minnesota, a few doors down from the Tea Party's favorite leader, Michelle Bachman. She refused to take an ethics test at her previous employer and sued. Coincidence - I do not buy the notion that these are coincidences. Someone needs to immediately go to a select number of precincts and hand count ballots run through the machines to see if they deviate from the final count. I would go to Republican leaning districts because those are places where these programmers would least expect anyone to do a recount or to check ballots.

The Republicans are setting this whole process up. They are going to steal the national election too - just like they did in 2004 in Ohio when they set up a "man in the middle" to white wash the results going to the Ohio Secretary of State's Office so that George was able to win a second fraudulent election. Check out the King Lincoln Neighborhood Association vs. Ken Blackwell lawsuit if you want to read about the methods. Or better yet, read Mark Crispin's book "None Dare Call it Stolen" (http://www.harpers.org/archive/2005/08/0080696). This has been going on since 2000 and the Republicans keep getting better and better at hiding their tracks. They are also getting extremely brazen with the pre-election purges, like the one taking place in Florida in view of everyone.

Scott Walker's win in Wisconsin is the perfect set up for President Obama too. Of course, Mr. Walker prevailed in Wisconsin. So, it is natural that Mitt Romney would win too (the narrative is set). And, all the emphasis on voter I.D. is another red herring to make it seem like they are addressing voter fraud. So, there is no need to worry about the companies who make these voting machines or the people who program and manage them during an election.

You folks in Wisconsin were incredibly brave in the face of a complete tyrant. We know the Koch brothers poured lots of money into the race. But, I think they want you to accept the results and move on (just like they told us to do in 2000 and 2004). Given that we no longer have any legitimate way to know if the results of an election are accurate, we have to do our own audits one way or another.

Do not move from Wisconsin. I am in Minnesota and we would have had exactly the same scenario had it not been for about 8000 votes that were tallied on our optical scan machines (must have messed up the programming).

the discussion on this has already begun. And yes, why can't we do some sample counts to make sure the votes were being counted correctly. I really hate this diebold machine concern. Why we can't rule this out is beyond me.

if we can turn it around we will be able to restore our state to what it used to be.
But yes, I hear you. I questioned how I should put this but I have always felt that find a job in Wisconsin was relatively easy compared to many other states.

people is a great idea... While Tommy Thompson was finishing up his second term in office as a Republican Governor another term called "the brain drain state" Which made it undesirable for well educated people to work here and find affordable housing...
