(22,271 posts)and since he's not running for office I don't have an issue with it. He was a WONDERFUL DNC Chair and he needs to be there again.

(371 posts)It's time for something else for Dean, but I don't think President Bernie wants him in his Cabinet unless it's for HHS position.

(2,280 posts)He sat there and gave credibility to BS right wing talking points. Once again Dean proves he's in the pocket of AIPAC.

(59,504 posts)Here is an article that speaks of both him and Guilliani supporting MEK. Note that neither now or when he last wanted them to walk away, does he mention his conflict of interest. http://www.allgov.com/news/us-and-the-world/why-are-howard-dean-and-rudy-giuliani-lobbying-for-a-terrorist-group?news=844196 Lobbying for a foreign government is bad -- this is worse.
He was for them not getting a deal back before the frame work - http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/237593-howard-dean-obama-should-walk-away-from-iran-talks
The fact is this deal is an alternative to a likely military action. Dean is wrong on this. If he persuades people against the deal, he may be more responsible for what will be a worse war than the Iraq war than any of the people who voted - for any reason - for the IWR. That war was going to happen, with or without the resolution. Voting down this international agreement throws a monkey wrench into the effort to avoid war here.
In 2003, I went back and forth between Dean and Kerry, before deciding Kerry was better. Now, Kerry is far far better - it is amazing how hard he and the rest of the Americans and other teams worked to get an agreement that all could accept --- and for many of them from comments yesterday, it was to give peace a chance.

(2,280 posts)You should post that in it's own thread.
But Dean has had very close ties with AIPAC for years. In 2004 the co-chair of Dean's campaign was Steve Grossman, a former president of AIPAC. He has repeatedly attended and been a speaker at AIPAC conferences. This is an old article but it discusses Dean's ties with AIPAC: http://www.inminds.com/boycott-news-0400.html
