I used to ALWAYS say we need the idiots to get power, so it can get worse, so it can get better

But that is easy for a white, heterosexual, non religious person to say.

For me there is very little the vicious, treasonous, murderous teaparty can do to me in the short run.

Since I am not a Woman, they cant appoint SC justices to overturn Roe and sentence me to a back alley death.

Since I am not a POC, I have no problem voting or getting an apartment or job.

Etc.

No, letting it get worse so it can get better, never works.

You're just compromising bits and pieces away to the insane who will never be satisfied. If you'd like an example, consider just how effective our party's "Abortion is icky" strategy has worked. Little bits and pieces chipped away to the point where they're now going after birth control.

You need someone to fight. Sometimes, you will lose. Sometimes, you will win. But if no one is fighting to make it better, it will only get worse.

Again, "keep the status quo" only has you go backwards.

On topics where someone is actually out there fighting and dragging the dead weight that screams "too soon!", we are making progress.

Other countries have revolutions long before it gets as bad as it is in America. America seems to be avoiding any kind of revolution since that first one. It's not like other countries in that way. To be honest, I am not sure what it would take for America to finally wake up.

I think the lyrics to "When Ya Get Drafted" by Dead Kennedys probably answers the why of that.

The problem is though that the idiot that gets voted in still needs to run a country (or continue your fine acting career). So what is a man/woman to do? Well idiots believe whoever they think sounds the best and $$ talks. So naturally they just fuck over anyone for private gain like there new buddies do which inevitably will reach you somehow. It's all connected IMO

When I was younger and more easily excited, I used to buy that theory, but I pretty much gave up on it when the nation fell in love with Reagan and reelected him with a landslide victory. I mean, if we will support a president who tries to shred the Constitution by setting up a shadow government, we will fall for anything.

and there'd be no difference no matter what I was.
