Among Liberal Dems:
Clinton - 86% Favorable
Sanders - 48% Favorable

Clinton better liked than Sanders among Democrats, including liberals
Liberal Democrats have fueled Sanders's rise in early states. And in this poll, liberals are also most the positive about him -- a plus-29 net favorability rating (percent favorable minus percent unfavorable). But Clinton shows very little weakness among liberal Democrats, with a net favorability rating of plus-73 that actually outpaces her standing among moderate and conservative Democrats (plus-62)

Besides, it is STILL too early to take stock in these polls. The primaries are not for at least 7 months.

(30,439 posts)I prefer to follow scientific polls.
But I do agree that polling this far out doesn't mean much. It's for the political junkies.

(12,471 posts)Is that one that uses quantum mechanics to come up with whatever outcome the folks who commission wanted?
Don't people realize that they craft these questions to get whatever outcome they want? Just follow the money.
Cali_Democrat
(30,439 posts)Asking 50 or 60 people you know would not constitute a random sample.

(153 posts)But in quantum mechanics a particle can be in all of its subatomic states at the same time. It is only the act of measuring in which the outcome is certain. You cant influence the outcome.

(51,076 posts)compared to 7 weeks or so for Bernie. Yeah thats the ticket.
Bernie has this one you watch and see. We're months away from the first ballots so lets see that the numbers are once we get a tad closer.
Hillary has had her eye on the Presidency for years, Bernie, Martin or Lincoln not so much.

(30,439 posts)Where are you getting your numbers from?

(51,076 posts)early after bill walked into the oval office. I get that number from paying attention to the last 23 years if you must know.

You want to take a serious approach to gun control? As a rural liberal gun owner I'm all for it! Lets institute background checks, bullet limits, training requirements, waiting periods. Whatever works. Lets ban some types of guns, make laws about when and where you can have them and offer buybacks. Lets deal with our mental health problems, culture of violence and accepted racism too. What we can't do is allow people to sue people for something that is legal under the current laws. That is an irresponsibly dangerous precedent.
DanTex
(20,709 posts)As far as the politics go, with NRA talking points you might convince yourself and some of the hardcore pro-Bernie people that giving legal immunity to corporations is a good idea. But for most Democrats, gun violence is a serious problem and this kind of giveaway to the NRA doesn't play well.

(16,967 posts)He's had 30 years to grab more of the national spotlight, but he never bothered until now after others have worked to shed old stereotypes that would have prevented him from being taken seriously. Now he's swooping in for the limelight.

That's a bad hole to start from
Number23
(24,544 posts)And even then, it's only 47% to 43%.
Someone posted a Nate Silver poll that showed that Sanders support is more about Sanders and -- despite the endless, incessant howls on DU -- very little about Hillary or the Dem party. Every single poll seems to bear that truth out. Hillary's approval numbers are not moving and even when Sanders' numbers go up a bit, Hillary's don't move.
That's the definition of a candidate who is pulling in voters because voters are thrilled with his message and not because he's the anti-Hillary or anti-Dem. Again, despite the endless howls of the darlings on DU.

(51,076 posts)Grand you many have been encouraging Bernie for a couple years now so you might can include those but Hillary has had her sights on the white house since Bill won.
Number23
(24,544 posts)And even if your "Hillary's been wanting to run for 23 years" was true, Bernie's still been in Congress for longer than that.

(94 posts).... the DNC is loathe to schedule debates, because they will only serve to highlight his superior grasp of the policy issues that matter most to ordinary Americans. Bernie is compelling because he speaks from the heart. Martin O' Malley is similarly charismatic.
Hillary will not come out well in a matchup against them so look for the Clinton Cabal to limit debates to ensure the upcoming coronation goes smoothly.
