Hillary is a war mongering shill who hates the middle class and loves Wall Street.

And Bernie is an unelectable crank who hates black people and loves guns.

So congratulations DU. You've convinced me that I can't vote Democratic this year.

If you think this is over the top, you should read half the posts on GDP. Is the only reason you support Bernie is because you hate Hillary? Is the only reason you support Hillary is because some Bernie fans said something bad about Hillary?

Sure there are posts where supporters of each side simply trumpet the positives of their choice, and that is good. But the high-school pep rally rhetoric in half the posts is there just to attack their enemy - another Democrat.

Those of you with no lives can check my history. I'm no fan of about half of what Obama has done, so I'm not a stranger to complaining about an elected official. But the thing that always gets me on his side is the vicious attacks by the knuckle dragging republicans. So when I read a nasty piece about Hillary, I support her. When I read crap about Bernie, I support him.

Look. We all know that we're gonna vote for whoever gets the nomination. Let's hope it is someone who will do a good job. But don't base your hopes on whatever any of them says during a campaign. Remember the promises we listened to before electing the current Democratic president. Hillary will say what she needs to say to both get votes and money. Bernie will say whatever he needs to say to appeal to his fans. Remember that Obama was a straight shooting maverick who was going to end war, help the middle class, and make government open. We need heroes to motivate us, but we also need reality and memory.

So, give me a reason to vote. Tell me why to vote for Hillary. Tell me why to vote for Bernie. But don't base your faith and passion on campaign rhetoric. I've been around this kind of thing long enough to ignore all candidate speeches.

Or go on playing the game the system has set up for you. It doesn't help, but other than turn off a lot of voters, I guess it doesn't hurt either.

for rational discourse.

You have to fear for the future is this is what actual Democrats say and do.

Besides the high school chest thumping, the biggest disappointment is the palpable desire for "a" hero. Just like 2008, groups gin up their expectations and foist all their needs on a politician. It is small wonder that so many quit voting after the disappointment of having their dreams dashed by the fact that their hero is just this guy - one that is no smarter or wiser than a half-dozen people they really know, no less prone to pride, fear, and greed than most.

5. Please go look at the record of O'Malley.

There is a lot of time. Don't do the whole "he's unelectable" thing to him. He is by far the head of the field in progressive policies put forward in his campaign and previous accomplishments. I mean it isn't even close.
