White House Correspondents' Association: Daily Caller heckler 'discourteous'

Last edited Sat Jun 16, 2012, 01:41 AM - Edit history (2)

The president of the White House Correspondents' Association has called today's "rude interruption" of President Obama by a Daily Caller reporter "discourteous," but said that the Daily Caller's status as a member for the White House in-town press pool is something that would need to be discussed by the WHCA board, of which she is a member.
"It was discourteous. It's not the way reporters who cover the White House conduct themselves," Caren Bohan, the current WHCA president and White House correspondent for Reuters, told POLITICO today, shortly after DC reporter Neil Munro shouted a question at the President while he was delivering remarks in the White House Rose Garden.

(IMHO, 'discourteous' is putting it mildly.)

scary..

I have to ask, do most RW trolls hang out at politico? or is this a middle road news outlet? because the percentage of comments that are negative about our pres makes me nervous...

because I'm never sure when it's from a troll with horribly hateful rhetoric until it's too late.

I'm not sure about politico-- I just noted the headline and wanted to share it here. I read Chris Wallace and some host from Fox also were angry over this upstart's interrupting the President. Things seem pretty topsy-turvy right about now!!

You said you weren't esp. a fan-- just wondered why. I don't really know anything about it.

I notice a lot of the comments are very neocon-ish.

Albritton were the far-right-wing assholes who shut down Bill Maher for saying that he didn't approve of the 911 hijackers but no one could say they were cowards, as it takes a bit of moxie to fly a plane into a building, or words to that effect. They took his show off the air in Washington DC, and of course, the currency of the program was politics, which is why he lost his gig at ABC.

They thought they shut him up for good, but he came back bigger, badder and with more profanity directed against those intolerant fuckwits, on HBO.

Anyway, POLITICO purports to be unbiased, but when the rubber meets the road, I trust them about as far as I could toss them. Regard their output with a somewhat jaundiced eye.

Sometimes it's easy to get lost in the morass of media outlets. For instance, I read that none other than BILL 0'REILLY expressed anger over the frisson in the Rose Garden today, clearly chastising the boor who interrupted the President. Also, Chris Wallace said it was 'outrageous.' Go figure!

It's not a consistent skewing, it's just occasional enough so that the uninformed reader misses the bias completely.

the racists. When Obama went on FOX "News", I think it was Chris Wallace, obviously interrupting him evey chance he got to be as disrespectful as possible. Then the Superbowl Sunday interview he gave Billdo O'Reilly. He should have passed on that. I don't care if other Presidents had granted the same interview with the Network showing the game. He should have just came right out and said, no way. FOX blew their chance at anymore interviews. O'Reilly came in with the same plan.
