Nationwide astroturf campaign coming soon to a spot near you:

The catholic bishops are organizing a series of events to rally Catholics to the cause of religious freedom.

http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/religious-liberty/fortnight-for-freedom/index.cfm

Expect to see lot of video of crowds of 200-400 demonstrating at your local Federal building. Figure that there are 200-400 people at any Catholic Mass on a given Sunday, count up the Masses in your area and ask yourself, "where are the rest of the Catholics?" There are some counter protests underway - Catholics asked to dress in white and show up in support of Obama, but I don't have much info on those.

The best part of the entire story is hidden away deep. The campaign was underway well before the ruling on insurance coverage for contraception came down. See, religious institutions are covered by the NLRB. Parishes and parochial schools were exempt, but recently the ruling came down that Catholic colleges are not. In other words, Catholic colleges would have to allow their employees to form unions! The bishops claim it infringes on their rights when the government defines a religious institution. What they're really on about is that the US government is forcing them to get them to actually follow Catholic teachings on social justice!

...they are spending too much time on the poor, and not enough on social issues. The Roman Catholic Church has stopped being prophets, and is now an arm of the GOP. God forgive them.

Covering up sexual abuse of children by pedophile priests for instance.

30%. And they are royally pissing off the other 70%. Support for the nuns is as strong as the opposition to the bishops' jihad.
