Is Hillary Getting Bad Campaign Advice?.....

I don't want a Repug president in 2016. I will vote for the Dem nominee no matter who it is. I'm getting worried about Hillary though and thinking that she might be getting bad campaign advice from her people. It seems to me that she is giving the Repugs fodder for them to beat her in the General.

She has a big unfavorability number and I think it is because she has been advised not to lead with her chin. I think she is being told that she needs to keep her comments down to a minimum because anything she might say might be used against her. Don't put your foot in it Hillary - seems to be what she is being told.

The only thing that her people seem to be letting her do is to give pre-written and screened speeches. When she faces people in a town hall situation - she is evasive, cute and cagey when answering and responding to questions. That's where the People get the impression that she is not being sincere and truthful. Think about her answers on the Keystone XL.

In my opinion that's what is giving her that unfavorable rating and that is what is hurting her.

By gosh - if she wants to be President - go for it. Don't hold back. Say what you want to say. And let the chips fall where they may. If it turns out that the People don't rally around me then maybe I'm not fit to be the President. I gave it my shot. I was true to myself and lost fair and square.

People want a person that knows what their positions are and believe in their positions and will do anything to make good on them. Somebody that is genuine. Right now I don't think they are getting that impression from Hillary. They see a person that in the worst way wants to get the job and will do anything to assure getting it. Even if that means not answering questions, ducking questions or not putting oneself in situations where I might say the wrong thing. Can't take a chance at giving the MSM and the Repugs something that they can use against me.

I know that her advisers are telling her this election is hers to lose. We hear a lot that she's going to be our next President. She's a shoe-in. The Repugs can't beat her. But her campaign style of being coy and dancing around issues that are important to the People and have her say - trust me - when I'm President I'll address that - it just won't work. She is sending off bad vibes and the People are responding to that.

I'm afraid that if that is the advice she is getting it is ultimately going to have an effect on me - a Dem - that wants a Dem as President in 2016 - but one that if vulnerable and maybe won't win because of the campaign style that she's being advised to follow. I'll be stuck with one of those from the Clown Car and any strides we've made over the last 8 years will be undone.

Hillary - please wake up and be the person that we all know that you are.

what type of government she wants to run. I like her best when she acts like an earth mother. How she stayed with bill because of the wonderful & long conversation that has been their marriage. That groundedness is an asset.

This was supposed to be a slam dunk easy win for her. People will say "Oh she still has a massive lead!" Ok, but every second she's in the spotlight she loses more favorability rating... it's only July. Yes, I want Bernie to win, but from the POV of a political junkie her campaign strategy needs a change.

Right now she is too calculated, too wooden, and to be quite honest she comes off as a big phony. Her social media pictures etc look even more fake and contrived to the point its cringe worthy. Someone told her to play it safe, but she's taking it way too far.

She's not one of us, she's not an everyday Grandma, and she will never know what it's like to struggle. She needs to stop pretending she is... Enough with these chit-chats over coffee with regular 'everyday people' and "listening" tours. No ones buying that, it actually comes off as patronizing. For Christ sake she was the SOS, First Lady and Senator, she needs to embrace that and channel her inner FDR and say "hey you know what, i've had it easy, others don't-- the system is fundamentally rigged and broken and I want to turn it over on its head" What's lacking from her is BOLDNESS which is odd because if there's anyone that has the potential to be bold it would be her.

The ultimate question is: will she bite the hand that has fed her her whole career, take a stand and lead a movement tackling the rampant inequality that threatens the foundation of our country?

Or will she take the easy way out, bow down to them, maybe become President in the process, but ultimately end up doing nothing of importance while being beholded to the status quo and the elites?

So far it looks like the latter; hopefully that changes.

Most of us aren't intimidated by a strong woman, personally I'd have more respect for her if she'd come out swinging and stop pandering.

The "spontaneous" bible quoting she did at a bakery was especially cringe worthy.

Right now, she is not being damaged by Bernie becoming more popular (Really, she is not. Nate Silver did a nice study on that fact). Why start swinging now when she has no reason to, considering the only way she will lose the nomination is with a misstep so horrendous she would have to drop out.

I think you will begin to see the fire during her nomination acceptance speech (Or before, of the others have already conceded.)

Honestly, right now she is playing the safe game in her run up to the general, and there is no rational reason to do otherwise.

She's probably getting too much advice from too many people, all just looking to get paid, and that makes it worse.

win the party by going to the left (or right if republican) and try to make as few commitments as possible in doing so, so that you can jolt toward the center for the general election and pick up swing voters - again avoiding commitments when possible. After winning, do what you want. Repeat.

Only risk is that turnout among base will be more important than swing voters.
