He's speaking his own opinion. Clinton obviously touches a chord in him somewhere. I can't imagine why but I'm not him. But we absolutely CANNOT lose sight of the importance of addressing racism...particularly when we are seeing examples every day of how African Americans are targetted in disproportionate numbers by out of control police Rambos.

I think Bernie supporters (myself included) need to take a lesson from Netroots Nation encounter and refrain from any attacks on the BLM movement. We all know that the issue of systemic racism in our society is vital and we need to keep focusing on them. I think that by speaking on these issues without lecturing or ad homonym attacks, we can avoid reinforcing some peoples' apparent perception that Bernie is insincere about addressing racial injustice. Whether BLM thinks Bernie (or his supporters) are sincere is really up to them, but we should still talk about these issues simply because its the right thing to do.

Certain people on this board were so eager to star piling on people for attacking Black Lives Matter they couldn't even wait for it to actually happen. People will accept or reject certain candidates for whatever reasons are important to them bur none of that changes the importance of bringing attention to the issues of racism and law enforcement abuse. Electing Obama did not signal the beginning of a post racial era. It ripped a scab off a festering wound.

The fact of the matter is that, when we finally have some Democratic debates, the candidates will be talking about racial inequality, police brutality, mass incarceration, etc. When have those issues really ever been discussed at length in politics? I think BLM accomplished something huge by agitating and making their issues heard at Netroots. Whether certain people in the movement prefer Hillary, well that's ok, but we will all get to see them up there on stage together addressing the issues, and that's going to help Bernie with PoC in any case.
